I spent 4 weeks in April, 3 weeks in June and am back in September to have a heart valve replaced. The doctors and the entire staff are top notch
Today I twisted my wrist, mentioned to one of the doctors making rounds and within 10 minutes they showed up with the X-ray cart and the nurse applied some pain cream. This is the 3rd I mentioned something and within minutes a doctor was checking it out. They go the extra mile to make sure to provide care.
Last there were no rooms available so I had to wait a while but they brought me food and finally upgraded me to a terrace suit which was nicer than a 5 star hotel room.

My husband had a procedure at St. Luke’s Oct. 2024. The hospital itself needs some serious updating/remodeling. The blinds in the room do not allow for complete privacy due to them missing and/or can’t be turned to close so anyone across can see into the room just like we could see into the offices on the opposite side. Most of the staff were nice, courteous, attentive and very pleasant EXCEPT for one nurse who was bold and proud of her rudeness. I sent an email to who I was told was the Director of nursing for the 6th floor a few weeks ago but I’m yet to get a response.
Also, for this procedure and the one that he had the month before their insurance verification person was not understanding of the insurance benefits and both times a 3-way cal was done with the hospital and my insurance Rep. on this last contact, my insurance Rep had to speak to 5 different people (45 minutes phone call) before someone understood and properly applied the benefits. Otherwise they were insisting on a payment due that was not required.

Every time I take my son to this ER and if he needs to stay the doctor nurses are all so nice and professional specially now that I took him for a procedure and if the Rt (Patrick) wouldn’t have checked him correctly they wouldn’t have caught that he was having trouble with the oxygen… he was amazing and the head nurse and all that treated him were all amazing so blessed to have a team doctors and nurses like that… we have been to several other hospitals that just do not show the same level of professionalism …. Thank you St Luke’s doctors and nurses❤️

My friend was in the emergency room and they didn't treat her and they didn't give her any medication. The nurses gave her very poor care. When they decided to admit her, it took them more than 12 hours to give her the room. She was tired and very sleepy. It's always the same in this hospital. Eight days ago she had a kidney operation and we are here again because they left her with an infection at the time of the operation. Terrible service. The staff was very arrogant.

I will be going to my after surgery followup appointment tomorrow 10/24/24. Due to multiple back surgeries it is difficult for me to walk from self park, so I really appreciate and value the valet parking staff. They run like crazy in this Houston heat and I always tip at least $20. I wish I could add the tip to my credit card because I forgot to have cash one day.

My 6 hour experience at this moment of writing the review is mixed.
The staff is good and helpful, however the young man in Admittance sent us the wrong way to our first stop to Nuclear Medicine. He sent us to the Basement level instead of the top 26th floor.
This building's floorplan is a maze with more than 6 color coded elevator shafts. The floor plan is old school.
The building is well maintained, however, after 4 or 5 decades you can't hide the age anymore. Especially when the outside looks like a 1975 Marriot Hotel with dark brick and curtain windows.
This review is not to detract from the good medical staff, rather to let you know there are shining new building examples in the surrounding medical complex that really holds this place back.
The parking garage is easy to access; go to rooftop level for wide parking spaces.

This is my second time at St. Luke Hospital. I had my first surgery with a brain tumor May 16, 2024 Dr. Akash J, Patel performed a surgery. The second time on August 30th, 2024 I had a cochlear implant surgery, Dr. Alex Sweeney performed a cochlear surgery. The stuff and nurses were wonderful. They took good care of me, they provided a sign language interpreter (I’m hard of hearing) It was very helpful communication and understanding. Dr. Alex Sweeney and Dr. Patel is the best surgeon! I highly recommend it. I like this hospital it’s very nice and clean, very friendly stuff and nurses.

Dr Holder Haynes is wonderful. I had hernia surgery for the second time for being stubborn and I will not post photos of the cuts or incisions because I am a little on the plus side I need to drop a few pounds. However, Dr Holder Haynes made me really comfortable, she’s very stern and straight forward and to the point which I like that in a person. Her staff is great also very nice and makes you feel comfortable as well. Great place wonderful staff!
