I have to say that unfortunately the service I experienced at Mercedes Benz South Melbourne was extremely poor and disappointing. I bought a second hand GLA class 250 on May last year from them. The day you purchase the car and the day you pick up the car are happy days because their treatment towards you is so special makes you feel like a satisfied customer. Don’t get your hopes up because it goes downhill from them on. Below you will see a timeline of the issues I had with them:
• Service time came for the car, January this year. It was a 6yr B service. I booked it brought my car in. A couple of hrs later I got the inspection report, service have been completed (first it all I was surprised how quick this service was ? makes me wonder)
On the report was a long list of things that require ‘urgent action’
These included some wear and tear items which I understand; these being the tyres and wiper blades. But then also they are listing that I have to change all 4 break pads, front and gear ( reading other people’s reviews I noticed a few where they also got on their report to change the break pads) very interesting because it also said that driving 1000kms more and I’ll get the warning light on (by the way the light never came on)
Another worrying thing on that report which made me doubt their credibility was that the photos they provided of the break sensors/pads didn’t belong to my car (please see attached photo of that section of the report) In summary I didn’t authorise those extra works to be done on my car and I went and picked it up, upon picking it up Charlie was around and I spoke to him and explained the report I received for these extra things to be fixed, very concerning I showed him the report and in fact he said ‘those pics don’t look like they are your car’s break pads/sensors’ ?
• Last thing that happened with my car 1 month ago. Out of the blue, the right headlight completely off, the warning came on the dashboard. That happened on a Friday. I called them Monday first thing in the morning if I can take my car to them and I explained what happened and my car currently stills under warranty so they said ‘yes bring the car in we have a look at it’ by this time the light was filled with condensation. That morning they called me and told me to review the inspection report. I was shocked by the quote given to me. Almost $5000 to fix a headlight ?
On the reports stated that there was an external influence which caused the damage, most likely on a parking lot or something so unfortunately warranty won’t apply. However my car hasn’t been hit or have crashed and if someone “bumped on the light” on the parking lot there would’ve been some sort of paint marks/dents something, but Nothing of that at all on the light!!.on the other hand the service technician Suheal Saheb that spoke to me stated that “this was probably caused by the previous owner’s mechanic that hit the light from inside with some tool that over time allowed the condensation to happen”‍♀️ how he can make an statement like this not professional at all.I found the whole assistance to this matter very shifty and avoiding lots of things. The fact that I asked him few times to send me a report that they must have upon selling a second hand car. He said he will ask archives for it, never heard back from him. Same with the sales person Charlie, called/messaged him multiple times, never replied back to me.I spoke to a lawyer and consumer affair where they advised me to write a letter explaining my situation and demanding for them to take action. In conclusion mercedes contacted me, hand balling the matter saying that the car was bumped into and that I may try my insurance to make a claim! ? the damaged was inside the light. I can’t state how this could’ve happened but before this my car has only been at Mercedes for the B service I stated above so make your own conclusions.
PS I’ve fixed the light with my mechanic. It’s working perfectly and it costed me under $1000 see photos

We recently popped into Mercedes Benz Melbourne on our way to the football. We live regionally and had just discussed updating my ML250. We were just ‘browsing’ but quickly became super impressed with the cars available. A consultant named Pan, was by our side listening to our needs, questions etc and had all the time in the world for us. We test drove a couple of cars with Pan, who knowledgeably explained all the features of the cars to us. Not once did we feel pressured to make a decision, Pan was there to provide us all the information we needed. We purchased one of the beautiful cars we test drove. It meets all our needs and is a joy to drive. It’s not a top range AMG, but Pan made us feel as though that’s what we’d bought. When we went back to pick up the car, the transaction was seamless. Pan had been communicating with us prior, regarding our trade in, delivery date etc. which assisted the smooth transaction. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. I highly recommend the team at Mercedes Benz Melbourne, when looking for your next vehicle. If you seek out Pan to assist, you will be in the very best of hands. His service is exceptional!

My car had a safety recall.
I dropped it in and had to wait for a staff member to chat to me before I could leave.

They have a cafe with baristas making coffees and chais.

It was a lovely experience to enjoy a delicious complimentary chai.

Plus they provided an Uber voucher so I could get home.

They also cleaned it for me which was a lovely and unexpected treat.

Came here a few months ago on a Sat potentially looking to order a GLA 35 AMG for my wife.
The salesman that we delt with was new to Benz apparently... we took a 2023 model for a drive around town, said we were going to discuss it over lunch. He took our details and said he would contact us later in the day or on Monday....
Thats where the communication ended.....
Big dealership, great selection of vehicles with a dedicated barista !!!
BUT.....i guess they didn't want our business.....
