If I could give Texas BOP 0 Stars I would. My technician application has been pending for over 2 months. I have misdemeanor charges from 2010 for traffic violations which the compliance manger was (supposed) to be obtaining court records on from the state of Georgia. Its been a month since my case was forwarded to the compliance department and when I spoke to the compliance officer today she informed me that they have not received anything from the state of Georgia. They also had not requested the information yet either. REALLY In the mean time, I have lost my job since my employers could no longer wait for me to obtain my license. So I took the initiative to obtain the court records myself (instructions given to me by the compliance officer) by having a friend of mine in Georgia go to the courthouse and get the info. Only to have (3 weeks later) the compliance officer tell me that they needed to be certified and mailed to them in a envelope. Back to square 1. The people that I've encountered from this board are rude, unprofessional and lazy. My adivice if you wish to move to Texas and practice but you have misdemeanors charges would be to apply for your license atleast 6 months in advance. Obtain your own court information because this department will sit on your application as long as they can and give you excuses whenever you call to check the status.

Very good customer service. I spoke with an agent who was very patient and answered all my questions. Her name is Sophia Bishop. She walked me through the PMP registration process and advised me on how to properly dispose of unused triplicate forms. I had a pleasant experience thanks to Sophia.

A JOKE. Don't expect to get your license within a year. These people demand the absolutely most rigorous list of ridiculous documentation for your license. A complete and utter nightmare to deal with and a despicable list of requirements.

A “glitch” (my nice word for a not nice word), caused many doctors not to have their required prescription forms for certain medications in a timely manner (30 days). Then when the doctors tried to contact the board, the site gave them a 6-8 week wait, THEN when leaving a message, they are told it will be up to another 2 weeks before receiving an email reply! How many children, let alone adults, were struggling in school without their meds while their doctor waited for a “special” prescription pad! Or their parents, who may need these meds, just to get out of bed to care for their kids! Either fix the problem, or state government needs to get out the way of my doctor handling my medical needs! As a Texan, I am ashamed of this state governmental board’s preformance!

Greg Thom and Katherine Murphy are all too correct.
If you have the slightest, stupidest, misdemeanor on your record from anywhere, even if that same offense is not a crime in texas, then you have to wait for the one, and only one, lady who is in charge of going over people's records who are already certified, or not, to get yoir paperwork in order.
I don't know if she really just doesn't care, or if it is the state that decided to delegate this enormous task, in the state with the second highest population in the union, to one, extremely lazy person.
Either way, it is a complete disgrace.

Was utterly disgusted to hear that you were requiring doctors to give diagnosis before filling hydroxy prescriptions. I do not have Covid but am appalled that you ever thought you had the power to get between a patient and their doctor. Thank goodness there was enough uproar to have you back off. It will however not be forgotten
