I have been hearing for years how amazing this place is and was thrilled to finally go! I got the hot stone massage and my massage therapist was truly awesome! The rest of my experience was just so so. The facility is nice but not particularly posh. The spa area is small and since it was busy with other patrons, felt kind of crowded. The robes are thin and the changing/shower area is all unisex and equivalent to a nicer recreation center. They are currently doing construction so my service was interrupted by hammering and sawing. They did compensate me for the disruption with a 20% discount, which I very much appreciate. While I did enjoy my day, I don't think I'll be likely to return. It just didn't live up to the hype.

Wow this placed has changed. This used to be the loveliest, safest place for locals to come. Clearly you are now trying to appeal to tourists. Warning for all locals: you must now travel up there on a day you don’t have a service booked, to get a special card, in order to now get the NM drivers license discount on any service, including the communal tub. The same NM discount they’ve always had. They won’t give it to you same day of your service, which seems frankly asinine to me. This policy is a deterrent for locals, and not welcoming whatsoever. This is supposed to be a place to relax, and all they’ve done is frankly stress me out.

Response to your response: “it doesn’t seem too much to ask.” If you’re able bodied, that is true. This was my sole point frankly. Assuming it’s easy for everyone to make a separate trip up there, is eliminating every disabled human that it’s not so easy for. I’d encourage you to ponder this for a moment. Also, this card has not been around for 20 years either. You used to be able to simply present your NM ID day of your soak, like I did many times. Please do not post untrue information.

First off the restaurant was great. Excellent food and service. My stay on the hand was okay.

I guess I expect good service when spending $600 a night. No one explained to me that there were certain parking spaces for each room. So I ended up driving around aimlessly and then heading back to where the shuttle person was to ask them where I park.
They had shampoos as well as lotion, and body wash in the room. Because they were individual bottles it seemed as if those were gifts for you to take when you stay in the room. Thank goodness I called the front desk and found out I was to leave them there. Again, no explanation when I was checking in.
I was getting ready to take my shower because I had a 7 o’clock reservation and I had no hot water. They had to have maintenance come down and apparently somehow it was shut off. When I told him I had a reservation and had to get ready their solution was for me to gather all my stuff, shower at the spa and get ready there.
Seriously? I would expect a response like that if I was staying at the Fairfield Inn not here.

I would visit the spa and the restaurant again, but never stay overnight.

Wow! We really enjoyed our soak in one of the private spas. The room we had included a sauna, onsen style shower and long tub with a fantastic outdoor view.

Everything was very clean, and functional. The facilities are a lot of fun to walk around and explore, and the Japanese feel and vibe has you feeling whisked away and dropped right in Japan.

Would love to return and explore more of this experience someday.

The deep stone massage I received was disappointing. I felt it was a bit gimmicky. Offering minimal pressure and including lots of neck vasculature massage? There was so much oil being applied, which is fine but no actual massage associated with it. Moreover, the preparation time for the stones significantly cut into the actual massage session. I've had far more effective massages that cost me 1/4 of this price point.

When I told the front desk about my experience their response was simply to suggest trying a different type of massage next time. My husband having spent nearly $700 here I had expected better customer service.

However, my husband had a great experience with his massage therapist. It might just be the therapist I got for the deep stone massage. Also, we both enjoyed the private bath; it was incredibly clean and relaxing.

Overall, this place is worth a visit. I just wish the customer service was better and that the quality of the massage matched the price paid.

Took family from out of town for massages and time in baths. With our massage we were granted access to the shared bath. There were so many people there that my 73 year old mother had to sit on the ground. Massage was nice. Atmosphere is incredible.

(In response to yours)

I understand the difference. I also understood that the guests in the area are supposed to be limited to 18. At times there were more. Upon making the reservation we were encouraged to arrive early to enjoy the bath… and I really would’ve just found it appropriate & safe to, on a very warm summer day, have seating for people to cool off after)

At my arrival to the spa I was greeted by their friendly amazing staff. The scenary was so relaxing. They private soaking pools and you can stay in their private rooms overnight. It has a community soaking tub, and sauna. They provide massages and facials. I enjoyed a Japanese Organic Facial. I was so relaxed and my facial provided all the hydration my face needed. The gift shop has some cool unique items to purchase. The only disapointment was that there is no steam room. I love a good hot steam room. However, There sauna was very hot and a great size being able to fit 15 people. If you make a visit to Santa Fe you need to check out the “10,000 Waves”.
