I would like to raise a complaint about some of the policies at this hospital, which I find to be inhumane. For example, my friend’s baby was born at 36 weeks and 1 day and is required to undergo a car seat test. Normally, this test should only take about 90 minutes. However, the doctor insisted on a 4-hour test. The issue is that my friend’s baby needs to be fed every 2-3 hours, making it impossible for them to stay in the car seat for 4 hours. They are requiring baby to go hungry during this time just to complete the test. This lack of consideration for basic needs is extremely disappointing and unacceptable.

I took my wife to the ER at Saint Agnes as an OB told us that she had mastitis and needed to go immediately for fear of sepsis, writing a note for her. For 6 hours I waited OUTSIDE with our 9 month old as they kept telling me there was no room for me and that I couldn’t visit or be there for her—the anxiety of not knowing was unbearable. Finally, I was allowed to see her for 5 minutes where I found out that she was on morphine. How can she make clear medical decisions or advocate for herself when she was so sick and on a drug they gave her? Yet they wouldn’t let me stay with her.

She was finally given a room sometime later that night after I left. In between visiting and taking care of our children, not once did a doctor or nurse address me—I was invisible. Unfortunately, I foolishly believed this meant everything must have been getting better. A DAY later she was transferred to the ICU due to her blood pressure being too low and unstable—again, this was alarming but nobody conveyed to us what this meant. She ended up waiting hours in the hall on a bed for her ICU room.

Neither my wife or I understood the severity of what was going on—they wouldn’t talk to me and they would just tell her (as she was foggy headed from being sick) medications and medical jargon for why they were giving her something—not what it meant or whether she should inform her family.

Thank God, her blood pressure finally began to stabilize and she was moved to another room as her blood work and condition improved.

As we were sitting together (after her transfer to ICU, of course I was alarmed and concerned so I stayed with her) my wife overheard a nurse sharing information with the shift change—the words “septic shock;” it was the first time we had heard anything from them about her condition (and it wasn’t even said to us).

This prompted us to look up her medical files online and research, and what we found made our faces turn white.

The initial notes from my wife’s ER visit stated that she was in multiple organ failure and septic shock! Yet they didn’t tell her, they didn’t tell me, they kept me away from her even after she conveyed that she wanted me to make medical decisions for her to them directly, they didn’t transfer her immediately to the ICU—SHE WAS DYING and I had NO IDEA.

I would have never left her side had I know her condition, and they wouldn’t be able to keep me from her had I known.

The guilt I feel from being so gullible and mistreated by this hospital keeps me up at night—I’m fortunate my wife survived and that I didn’t wake up to finding out she had died without me being there for her.

The idea that they failed to keep either of us informed of how serious this was is disgusting, reprehensible, and negligent. People deserve to have precious time with their loved ones should their condition be so serious and the likelihood of death so high—robbing them of such is foul. I pray this hasn’t happened to others who were less fortunate then I.

My sister Minerva has been a patient at St. Agnes several times now, and Julie and student Charlie are outstanding and professional nurses in the ER.. Also, Sarah in ICU-6 and Sam in ICU 3, they are in the right field answering all the questions we had about our sister, Minerva. We are very fortunate Minerva M is at St. Agnes hospital now. Thank you, to everyone for their dedication and professionalism to their patients, we are very appreciative of all the work that they all do.

My wife was admitted for very low blood pressure. She also had extreme pain in her shoulder. They took an xray and said she has calcium buildup. The would not give her a cortisone shot for the pain. Communication between the patient and the doctor is absolutely terrible. She spent two days there and the doctors recommended she stop taking apidline and methotrexate that she takes for Vasculitis. No doctor around to question her recommendations that could harm my wife. We finally got released after waiting three hours for the doctor's recommendation. Absolutely terrible service.

I was absolutely ? surprised ? with the service from saint agnes staff. Down to earth and super chill from security to er check in and the backroom nurses are thumbs ? all the way will ride for the positively awesome connection from nurse Veronica, saint agnes needs to go the distance to recognize her service, intelligence, effective communication and connection. She's a wonderful asset and I cannot exclude the staff she works with. Thank you for evolving my past experiences and making me feel safe and heard in your care. I don't ask for too much, and thank you all for not treating me like drug addiction. Was super unhappy with staff in the past for that and there carelessness to compare my pain to there's. Much love and please don't let this mentality die. Many blessing ? to you all and many thankx to you. Your the illest staff alive no cure needed. ? ?

My mother was brought here two weeks ago for a fall, confusion, disorientation, etc. the ER was great. They admitted her and that care was not great. Three different doctors with three different diagnoses.
Here we are, a few weeks later and she’s back with the same symptoms plus a fractured knee because she fell. She was brought in by ambulance. When I finally got back to see her, she was sitting all alone. Still confused, doesn’t know where she’s at, cant finish a sentence. Yet, all they’ve done is take an x ray of her knee?! I had to contact someone and ask what is going on. They said they had no idea she had other symptoms smh. It’s obvious!! She’s staring out into space. They’ve since moved her into a hallway. The care here is very poor. They took her to the restroom via wheelchair and didn’t even help her back into her bed all the way. What if she would have fallen?! Another patient just came in with “mental distress”, oh boy they jumped on him! 5 nurses, a doctor. Hooked him up to an iv, did blood, even tested him for a stroke. I will never come back here. Stay away! I understand there’s a shortage and people are sick, but why the poor treatment?!

The reviews here scared me but I wanted to say I had an amazing experience. I came in thinking I had an appendicitis and felt like I was in the worst pain. Quickly the nurses and doctors realized I had an ectopic pregnancy and my fallopian tube had ruptured which could be deadly. I went into emergency surgery with dr bustmante and she was great. All the nurses were great and everyone was so kind. They cracked jokes to make me feel better. I’m really grateful for them.

HOSPITALIST have RUINED Saint Agnes! It's a business deal now, not an admission! I literally had to beg for my private Dr to be brought on board. The moans and cries of the patients in pain are too much to bare. I can NOT wait to be discharged! What was once the cream of the crop is now beyond bottom of the flop!! I had my 3 children here and now? I wouldn't want my dog to have a litter here!! And treating surgical pain with Tylenol?! They're practicing Sadism and masochism now?! Please get back to the excellence you once achieved with ease! And in closing having to wait 3, yes THREE DAYS to even get my room cleaned? 3, yes THREE DAYS to get a sponge bath as well!? Is this even acceptable? It is at Saint Agnes medical center in Fresno CA!! They do have some amazing nurses and even better food than most hospitals! Please get back to the way you were!
P. S. I did in fact get a hold of them, laughable comment Saint Agnes. When your Doctors did not think a mass in the lungs was important enough to pursue!? It's cancer!! YOUR mistake may have cost me my life!! Now? My lawyer will be reaching out to you. Sad that a patient was not important enough for you to care!!
