I been living in public housing for more then 6 plus years. They don't even care if we complain about how the manage their property or how some tenant are. I'm just piss off who they treat us like we are kids. Im so close to send in a petition to public housing. They been ignoring our complaints. They discrimination us for being complain about their handling the property. We been having kids vandalism our door, windows. They don't ever care. They just told us to get a security camera. I thought this is government property but they still act like they don't gave a dump shit about it. Almost of the people live where I live are not safe. The been complain for year never been sovle at all. We all should send out a petition to the government let them hear us and let them know how hard it is to live in public housing.

I live in the Nan McKay Senior High Rise Apartments. I have had problems with someone entering my apartment when I am not there and stealing food, even out of my freezer, clothing items, etc., and even attempting to enter while I am in there. Management suggests I get cameras. There is no security. I thought this would be a good place to be able to live in a comfortable relaxed senior citizen environment. I have found that it is not. It's like living in any crime infested, bullying, unsafe environment. There is nothing worst then not being uncomfortable in the place you call home. I no longer look at it as such. It's just a roof over my head and I pray to YAHWEH AND HIS SON YASHEWA that they keep me from being harmed while I am residing in this building.
UPDATE: Today, 7/2/24, as I was preparing a dish for dinner, I went to get my jar of red pepper flakes out of the cabinet. No red pepper flakes. The entire container has been stolen. My belongings have been been stolen from me for just about 3 years straight. October, 2024 will be my 3rd year here. I sometimes don't notice items missing until I need them for some particular reason or another. However they are getting into my apartment, if not with a keycard, is a puzzle to me I have decided to journal my experiences here at Nan McKay in this space. This is a government building. Public Housing. I have to live where I can afford to live

I’ve been trying to contact public housing for months to let them know that me and my kids aren’t safe where we live and I can never get a hold of anyone and it’s very hard to get things done properly. It’s been a very depressing situation. Living where I live has caused depression on me and my kids and things are getting worse. All I care about is the safety of me and my children and public houses Dont and it shows very much. What else do I do?

I just read some of the reviews one person I have the same worker I've been on this program for over 20years and at that time I had 2workers then one was Afro American the other was white I am Afro American they were professional, respectful, always willing to help and if you had quesns regarding your file will assist in giving you a answer when my voucher would go up I was notified now they are rude, sarcastic with replies, don't answer phone, take their time resounding to emails last year I received a letter from them needed a question answer called the person listed and sent emails a year later
heard nothing always changing workers and I am sorry to say this but there's some racist overtones they don't care about people and the person I deal with is oriental and she is not the only one about a year ago she was doing my paperwork and taking her time to complete it both of these people I have asked questions and both responded with sarcastic replies they also hender you with the low dollar amounts for vochures knowing if a place does take it rent is extremely high to agree they should be terminated and replaced with people who cares about another human being regardless of race or income status they come across as if you're beneath th I'm currently trying to search how to file a complaint against the worker and the agency itself I'm a true believer don't get s job if you have no compassion don't care about another human being, undertone racist issues even the director has issues again I'm talking 2024 they should be fired and I agree with most of you I find this to be so horrificn the year 2024 it's is a embarrassment to the city of st paul, MN and they don't tell you anything on how to own a home they don't o anything but get a check and be so unprofessional it's sad

I hate living here so much infestation in my unit and cold. Also My worker said she is not treated good by the housing office when I call her to report loss of income. I feel bad she told me that. The agency is hell for us who live here and more likely their employees.

My worker is Mailee Lor. I have reached out several times to her and her supervisors about me being in a dangerous living situation and needing to port out immediately. I was told to stop contacting supervisors and she will get to my paperwork in the order received. (When Mailee knows my situation is urgent.)Now today I am told by the front desk that Mailee went on maternity leave? I did show proof of my safety at risk and also mentioned the shelters are full to Mailee several times. We have nowhere else to go and no one will call/email me back. All Mailee or her supervisors had to do was port my file over to St. Cloud hra and I had to push them to do so for weeks.. It baffles me how no one is able do their job? For the record, I feel like these “busy people” should be held accountable if something happens to me or my kids. I’ve also reported them to the dhs the governors office, the mayor and the hud authority. They were all shocked to hear how my situation was dealt with.Thank you and please everyone keep holding them accountable and report them.

It should be shutdown and they need to re-train their employees I am new to St Paul Minnesota area and this has been the worst mistake ever for me and my child. Not only do they take their time processing your paperwork, they lack communication and professionalism I have been waiting for an inspection for a week and 2 days (my child starts school any day now without a home to go to) but only for me to call them and find out my paperwork is basically in the air because they don't cover north St Paul which I don't understand when they are the only housing company in St Paul. Oh the best part the "SUPERVISOR" Is gone for the weekend and there is nothing anyone can do but while speaking with Hailey my case worker who told me nothing after having me initial paperwork knowing my Housing wasn't covered in that area she says it was sent back to Wisconsin called Wisconsin they haven't received anything then she says oh I just gave it to my supervisor ? i think an elephant could do their jobs better than them I promise

Go up
