I enjoy going to this pharmacy in my neighborhood. So convenient and the staff are always so kind and helpful. They even gave me tips on a matter that I needed guidance about 🙂 thank you Boulder Medical Center Pharmacy.

I have always found the staff here to be wonderful. It’s a small operation so I know that they order a lot of items and you have to wait an extra day or two. Normally, this is not a big deal.

However, when we left Boulder, I specifically said that I needed all of my son’s prescriptions on a specific day. They assured me that it would happen. Aaaaaand it didn’t.

The one time I ABSOLUTELY needed something, they fell short. And that’s the final impression I have of this pharmacy, which is unfortunate.

TLDR: This pharmacy violated HIPAA and my privacy.

I was visiting Boulder from NYC. I asked my doctor to send the prescription here, which they sent during the morning. When I went to pick up at 4:30pm, Nik looked for my prescription and he said "Oh yes, I remember seeing that." He is behind the counter, finds my prescription and ANNOUNCES OUT LOUD, "Yes, your doctor sent over a prescription for XXXXXXXXX and we couldn't fill it because of an insurance issue". Why would you announce my prescription for the entire pharmacy to hear? I'm pretty sure this is a HIPAA violation. I felt extremely disturbed by this. He then says "We can fill this in 15 min". I said "That won't work" and before I could even say that I will be back tomorrow for it, Nik gets extremely defensive, aggressive, and condescending, and says, "You can't rush a pharmacy...." I told him I have no plans on rushing him bc I wanted to return tomorrow. I left extremely upset by this entire interaction. And all I wanted was a prescription because I have not been sleeping because of the recent death of my brother. He had no business announcing my prescription out loud for other patrons to hear. And he had no right to be so aggressive towards me because of the insurance issue. He has no right treating people this way because you don't know what people are going through. I called the next day to speak to a manager to complain but all I got was voicemail, which I left. Never received a call back from the manager and hence, I'm leaving this review.

While it’s possible I just had a bad experience given the myriad of other reviews, this pharmacy was very disappointing. One worker didn’t know that Diclofenac (generic for voltaren) could go through insurance and said I was going to have to just buy the over the counter variant. This is simply incorrect (have gotten this many times over the past 4 years having gone through multiple surgeries) and this is after he seemed offended that I was only coming to pick up this prescription 5 days after it was sent out, never mind the fact that I had just arrived back in Colorado the day before (having had surgery in another state). The other worker seemed a bit more knowledgeable but mentioned that they were out of stock and would only come back in 3 weeks later. Having had this prescribed to calm down post surgery inflammation in targeted areas, waiting 3 weeks for a restock is not a viable approach. I went to the Walgreens on 28th and was able to get it the next day without any hassle (and for free since I’d reached my out of pocket max and it goes through insurance ?).
