Unfortunately I got involved into section 8 rental with tenant from this Housing Authority- first it took almost 3 months to finally have the tenant move in, because rep was waiting for a certain phrase in my email with no follow up for over a month, then tenant requested for a year she has been there, every service call possible so I made $0 profit on this rental in a year, when asked to move out the tenant and the Housing Authority of Pompano Beach ghosted me. I have been emailing, calling, leaving voice mails across all employees not just my assigned Section 8 counselor and no one calls back ever. Finally got the supervisor on the phone what a miracle it only took 15 calls. Then she lets me know it will be the end of the month I maybe will have possession of my apartment, my counselor received 60 days notice for tenant to vacate 57 days ago and did not acknowledge it and did not let me know of no move out during the month is not possible. So sad. I am a landlord who decided to help an individual and accept Section 8 voucher, instead it turned into ordeal and I feel disrespected by the employees of Housing Authority - surely everyone has time to perform the job they are being paid for, so why such a lack of humanity, compassion and professionalism. When I let it all out to a supervisor she said she will have a conversation with individuals not responding to me. But I see one star reviews have been here for months and nothing changed. Must be nice to receive salary and benefits and no need to meet job expectations. And to have a conversation if you fail miserably at your role. Not much of a recourse. So it will keep on happening. Landlords be aware and stay clear. I wish this review was here for me when I considered to accept that voucher.

Im homeless and I was contacted back in November of 2021 that my app was pending verification. Its been months and nobody has gotten back to me I dont want to rush anyone I just wish they would say what’s going on instead of we will be contacting you in a few weeks. Weeks turned into months. Its been very hard I sleep in my car . I just want someone to be honest and say whats going on

I do not recommend this agency!!! Do yourself a favor and DON'T port here!!!!!! I definitely regret ever coming here!!!! I wish I would of took the reviews to heart and avoided this place like the plague!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The invisible, nasty, and RUDE cw E. Bell never answered her phone and never returned emails when I addressed issues with the unit and the brown eyed devil and SCUMLORD!!!!!!!!!! I had to call the commissioner who is on the PBHA board, Whitney M. and complain about the rude cw, SCUMLORD and the so called LYING inpector and she was AWESOME, HELPFUL and she returns phone calls!!!!!!!!

I am so disappointed of this housing authority in the city I grew up in. The people there are rude in a subtle way and it's saddening because it's also towards the people who live within that community. Countless times I have given them forms that were needed for them to be "lost" and no where to be found. They even lost my mother's marriage certificate. I am currently sitting in their lobby writing this review. I had an appointment at 1:15 and it is currently 2:41 and I haven't seen anyone yet. For God's sake, please Pompano Beach Housing Authority, do better. And by better I mean better management, better customer service and better organization skills.

I walked into this location just seeking help or information about services in general ... Upon arrival i signed in and stood behind the girl who was currently at the counter speaking with the lady at the front. As i stood there waiting only just to ask a question about how to get assistance for housing etc., the lady who's name im not aware, told me in a very rude tone that i could have a seat. Although she spoke in such a rude tone i ignored her unprofessionalism and had a seat. Finally after everyone had been served. She called me up and just stood there staring at me as if she was annoyed. I asked her a simple question and she told me their Section 8 was closed, so i asked if she knew any other information that she could give me. Because not being from broward i wasnt aware of how things worked as far as getting assistance with finding an affordable home, rent etc. Iam some one coming in inquiring about services, i came in not disrespecting anyone. But the sevice i got here WAS TERRIBLE. Maam up front at the front window please watch the way you handle people or speak to people coming in only seeking help. You dont know what that person may be going through. A person could of lost their home, got kicked out their home or something in that nature. When i asked if she could help me as with any other numbers or information she gave me a big fat NO with the most unconcerned serious face i have ever seen. She couldn't recommend or suggest anything and left me to figure things out on my own. Which i am completely fine with. But however i am not okay with the way this office does customer service. Very unprofessional. You are suppose to be serving the community witn respect, and courtesy this woman was plain out nasty to me and had no reason to be. I dont know her name but she is an older African american woman who has her hair black and permed short neck/shoulder length and it appears she has a few gold teeth in her mouth kind of heavy set. She completey disregarded me needing help and although i know she could of provided with another alternative she was VERY nasty...unbelievable..

It was bad enough when the office is open , with covid, Imagine the office is closed and still closed. Im a very good landlord that always trying to make things work with my tenants. It makes me want to drop section 8 rentals . which is sad.

The worst housing authority due to the fact that u can have an appointment an they will keep u waiting for an hour or more in the waiting area if u move to Florida make sure U do not come here! waste of time an to slow with everything ! Geesh
